Free SEO problem diagnosis

Answer eight questions about what happened, what changed and what your Google reports say. You get the most likely cause, what to check first, and a link to the right guide. It runs in your browser: nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to send the result to us.

How the diagnosis works

Almost every search problem we are asked to look at falls into a handful of categories. Google's own guide to debugging traffic drops lists technical issues, security issues, manual actions, algorithm updates, seasonality and site moves. Add Business Profile suspensions, clicks lost to AI Overviews, measurement errors, and sites that convert poorly or were never built to rank, and you have the eleven outcomes this tool can point to.

Each answer adds weight to some causes and not others. A notice in the Manual Actions report is close to conclusive on its own. A sudden drop right after a redesign points strongly at the migration. A dip that also happened at the same time last year points at demand. The tool shows the strongest match and up to two others worth ruling out.

What the tool cannot do

It cannot see your data. Eight multiple-choice answers are a first read, not a diagnosis, and real cases often involve two causes at once: a migration that happened in the same month as a core update, for example. That is exactly where an expert looking at Search Console, analytics and the live site earns their fee.

Before you start, it helps to have

  • Google Search Console open, with the Performance report set to the last 16 months.
  • A rough idea of when the problem started.
  • A list of anything that changed on the website, hosting or Business Profile around then.

If you do not have Search Console set up, answer "not sure" where needed. Setting it up is free and is usually the first recommendation anyway.

Where the result goes

Nothing you click is stored or sent. If you choose "Send this result to an SEO expert", the summary is carried to the contact form, where you can add details and decide whether to send it. Messages go to Eye To Ad Media in Denver and are read by a person.

Urgent? If your site is showing a security warning, or your Business Profile has just been suspended, skip the quiz and call 1-800-481-8638.

About the diagnosis tool

Is the SEO diagnosis tool really free?

Yes. It runs in your browser, does not ask for an email address, and you see the result immediately.

Is my information saved when I use the tool?

No. Your answers stay in your browser. Only if you click to send the result to an expert is a short summary carried to the contact form, and nothing is sent until you submit that form.

How accurate is the diagnosis?

It is a first read based on eight answers. It is good at pointing to the right category and the first things to check, but it cannot see your data, and some cases have more than one cause. An expert review confirms or rules out the result.

What if the result does not match what I see?

Trust your data over the tool, and tell us what you are seeing. Unusual cases are exactly the ones worth a conversation.

Talk to a person

Rather talk it through with an expert?

Send a few lines about the problem, or call. You get a straight read on what is likely happening and what it would take to fix, before anyone talks about money.

  • The free audit and first conversation carry no contract.
  • Project work gets a fixed written quote before anything starts.
  • Zach Wennstedt, founder of Eye To Ad Media, works directly on client accounts.
  • If SEO is the wrong tool for your problem, you will hear that too.
